The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test is among one of the many tests choices available for high school students. It is essential for those interested in pursuing a career in the U.S. Military. This test, sponsored by the Department of Defense, measures abilities and helps to decide if a candidate is suited for military service. It also determines which service branch and specific military jobs they may be best suited for. The historical test scores to decide the service branches were: Air Force—31; Army—31; Coast Guard—36; Marine Corps—31; National Guard—31; Navy—31. ASVAB is a multiple-choice test and takes about three hours to finish and is completely FREE.
What is the format of the test?
There are two versions of the ASVAB test: the CAT-ASVAB, which is computerized, and the P&P-ASVAB, which is the paper-and-pencil version. Both versions consist of 9 subtests. They cover areas like arithmetic reasoning, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, mathematics knowledge, general science, electronics information, and more.
