About the ASVAB Test Format

There are two versions of the ASVAB test: the CAT-ASVAB, which is computerized, and the P&P-ASVAB, which is the paper-and-pencil version. Both versions consist of 10 subtests. They cover areas like arithmetic reasoning, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, mathematics knowledge, general science, electronics information, and more.

In the context of math, the ASVAB includes two math-related sections: Arithmetic Reasoning and Mathematics Knowledge. The Arithmetic Reasoning section covers topics like basic arithmetic, percentages, fractions, decimals, and ratios and proportions. The Mathematics Knowledge section includes topics like algebra, geometry, functions, patterns, statistics, probability, and properties of numbers.
