What is GED test for?
After graduating from high school, you receive a diploma. A diploma is a document stating you’ve completed all the required courses to graduate. Some students in high school are close to finishing and getting a diploma, but don’t quite get there. The reason could be anything from medical emergencies, financial trouble to migrating to another place. In those cases, students can take a series of tests that will indicate whether or not they have a high school level of education. This is known as the GED test. The test provides an opportunity for them to earn the equivalent of a high school diploma, opening up doors for higher education, better employment opportunities, and personal fulfillment.
What is the format of the test?
The GED test format consists of four subject areas: Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Each subject area assesses different skills and knowledge, and the test is designed to measure a candidate’s proficiency at a level that is equivalent to that of a high school graduate.
The GED Math covers basic math, geometry, Algebra, graphs and functions. There are 46 questions on the GED math test and you will have 115 minutes to complete the Math part (approx. 2.5 mins per question). The focus of the Math test is on the understanding the applications.
