Format of the ACT Math
The ACT Math section consists of 60 multiple-choice questions to be completed within a time limit of 60 minutes. i.e. the students have 60 seconds per question. This section assesses mathematical skills in various areas such as pre-algebra, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, coordinate geometry, plane geometry, and trigonometry. The ACT Math section covers more topics than SAT Math section. ACT is designed to evaluate a test-taker’s mathematical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Calculators are allowed in the test.
Many students initially find the ACT Math section confusing at first, and with good reason: the math on the ACT might be the same as what you learn in high school, but it’s often tested with questions you’re not used to seeing.
